Kodwa uJesu wayefuna ukulisebenzisa ukuze afanekise izimfanelo zomfundisi. “Ngiqinisile ngithi kini: Konke enakwenza komunye walaba abancane kulaba bazalwane bami, nakwenza kimi.” ( 2 Kor.5,40). Ubani umfowabo kaJesu? Omunye wabalandeli bakhe beqiniso. Ngakho uJesu uyala abafundi ukuba babe abaphathi abahle nabelusi bomhlambi wakhe—ibandla lakhe.

Iphetha kanjalo inkulumo ende uJesu aphendula kuyo imibuzo emithathu yabafundi bakhe: Liyobhujiswa nini iJerusalema nethempeli? Siyoba yini “isibonakaliso” sokuza kwakhe? Kuyokwenzeka nini “ukuphela kwezwe”?

Abafundi bezwa ngokwesaba ukuthi izakhiwo zethempeli zizobhujiswa. Babuza ukuthi lokho kuzokwenzeka nini nokuthi “ukuphela” ‘nokuza’ kukaJesu kuyokwenzeka nini. Njengoba ngishilo, kungenzeka balibala iqiniso lokuthi uJesu wenyukela esihlalweni sobukhosi sikaMesiya ngaso leso sikhathi futhi wavumela umbuso kaNkulunkulu ukuthi uphume ngawo wonke amandla nenkazimulo. UJesu uxwayisa ngokucabanga okunjalo. Kuzoba nokubambezeleka ngaphambi "kokuphela". IJerusalema neThempeli kuyobhujiswa, kodwa impilo yeBandla izoqhubeka. Ukushushiswa kwamaKristu nosizi olwesabekayo kuyofika phezu kweJudiya. Abafundi bashaqekile. Babecabanga ukuthi abafundi bakaMesiya babeyonqoba ngokushesha, iZwe Lesithembiso liyonqotshwa, ukukhulekela kweqiniso kubuyiselwe. Futhi manje lezi zibikezelo zokubhujiswa kweThempeli nokushushiswa kwamakholwa. Kodwa kunezinye izifundo ezishaqisayo ezizayo. Okuwukuphela “kwesibonakaliso” abafundi abazosibona sokuza kukaJesu ukufika kwakhe uqobo.” Lesi “sibonakaliso” asisenawo umsebenzi wokuvikela ngoba sifika sekwephuzile. UJesu wakucabangela ukukhathazeka kwabafundi bakhe okwakubangelwa ukucabanga okungalungile futhi wathola isifundo esingokomoya kubo.
